World Labs sold to AMD for $8.2 billion
While everyone is making a lot of noise (or freaking out) over Anthropic's leaked S-1 IPO numbers, Fei-Fei Li’s World Labs was just sold to AMD for $8.2 billion in stock.
Putting aside Fei-Fei’s reputation and undisputed contributions to ML and AI advancement (ImageNet, anyone?), I do wonder what they actually built that made them worth buying for AMD: a fancy website?
